Crave giveaway: Wahoo Run/Gym Pack for iPhone

Did you make a New Year’s resolution to work out more? How’s that going for you? Well, if you need a little help or extra motivation, then you’ll love this week’s giveaway.

Up for grabs is the Wahoo Run/Gym Pack for the iPhone. The fitness bundle includes a soft heart-rate monitor and a wireless Wahoo Key. The latter attaches to your iPhone via the 30-pin connector and wirelessly communicates with the monitor to read and record your heart rate.

The dongle features an ANT+ receiver, so it can work with other ANT+ fitness devices, such as a bike sensor, and is compatible with the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S and iPad. Wahoo also offers a number of downloadable apps that you can use with the pack to track your workouts, calculate calories burned, and more.

With CS6, Photoshop takes a step toward Videoshop

Don’t beat yourself up if you didn’t know that some modest video editing abilities are tucked into the premium version of Photoshop CS5.

But expect a lot more starting today, when Adobe Systems releases an open beta version of Photoshop CS6 code-named Superstition.

The new version brings video from the higher-priced Extended version of Photoshop to the standard version, and it adds editing features such as the ability to apply Photoshop tone and color adjustments. And instead of relying on Apple’s QuickTime, the new tool draws from Adobe technology elsewhere in the Creative Suite, such as the Adobe Media Encoder to handle a broad range of video formats for the full-fledged video tool, Premiere Pro.

Numerous reports of new iPads getting unexpectedly toasty have plastered the Web today. CNET Labs ran our own, independent tests, and without too much beating around the bush, here are the results. All measurements were taken on the back of the tablet and all are reported in degrees Fahrenheit.
